Future City : +HO2 Water Scraper

Water Scraper

Designed by Sarly Adre bin Sarkum of Malaysia, this water scraper would be about as high as Empire State Building, but with only a few stories that are exposed on the surface. The entire building will be a standalone, floating, arcology. Wind, solar and wave power would provide energy, hydroponics and green space above will provide food and oxygen, and the structure will provide housing, work space, and areas for recreation. Ballast tank will maintain the level of structure, such as the submarine, as will the tentacles. The tentacles will also move around the ocean tides, generating power from kinetic energy. Adre bin Sarkum deliberately designed the building design is in contrast with the skyscrapers that dominate the rest of the competition, and to highlight sustainable architecture. Obviously, no one has plans to build anything like this. But if global warming throws us into the future such as Water World, Adre bin Sarkum aqua-condo looks like a solution to the fore.

Throughout history, through the need for civilization, mankind has created buildings that consume resources. The skyscraper is a symbol of gluttonous consumption, which is very dense grouping of activities that work, play, rest, etc. has been a pleasant ecological harbingers of our future bleak. As a reaction to modern skyscrapers and the dilemmas of the world's leading minds have created many variations of the skyscraper in the opposite sub scrapers, ground scrapers and even the development down. But still they are still struggling to reach zero or zero output in terms of production resources. There green scrappers which, though said to be ecological, urban and attached to the production network interconnect that is still a negative contribution to the environment.

Water-Scraper has bioluminescent tentacles that not only do the balancing act for the structure, but also provide shelter and marine fauna gathered while collecting kinetic energy through movement. This sustainability strategy that aims to eventually create and provide an oasis with a "zero" negative impact on the environment helps in achieving a special mention in this year's competition eVolo Skyscraper.

In finality, we envision a future where land resources will be scarce, only a natural progression that we create ourselves. Approximately 71% of the earth's surface is ocean, even if climate change has its way, it is only natural progression that we would fill the ocean one day. Our new metapolis image, created from a collection hO2 + scrapers, a city that does not consume nature but creates and produces nature. The city eventually became hO2 +.
